~Music is an integral part of any worship service but at First United Methodist Church of Huron it is important that the music of every worship service not only be uplifting to the soul but bring a deeper understanding to the scriptures and message that are presented during the worship service.  We are glad when people enjoy the music in a service but we hope that it is much more than entertainment.  It should be a bridge that brings you closer in your personal relationship with Christ.  No matter if you like traditional, contemporary or both there is a place to indulge and share your musical talents here.

Wednesday Night Music Opportunities
(September - May Schedule)

Chancel Choir ~ 5:15 - 6:15:  A choir of about 30 adults and high school youth that sing traditional, contemporary, and gospel music for the 11:00 Sunday service.  All rehearsals take place in the choir room.  No audition is required.  The choir meets from September through May.  Laura Petersen, director.  

"Firm Foundation" Praise Team ~ 7:45 - 8:45:  Vocalists and instrumentalists combine to practice praise and worship and contemporary Christian songs for the “11:00 Rock" service that meets Sunday in the gym.  Because of the deep spiritual and time commitment needed to be a part of the group an audition is required.  Please talk to Laura Petersen or any member of the praise team about the audition process. Chancel Bells ~ 6:30 - 7:00:  A traditional hand bell choir of 10 - 12 ringers that perform periodically throughout the year.  The bell choir meets from September through May.  No audition is required however; a basic understanding of musical rhythms is helpful.  Teresa Smith, director.
